Easyfuel Limited, pioneer leader in integrated cashless fueling in the country's downstream oil and gas sector, is currently collaborating with Gilbarco Veeder Root (GVR) to change the face of payment for fueling in Nigeria.

The newly introduced system is expected to eliminate the use of cash in the purchase of petroleum products at filling stations across the country.

Speaking while paying an official visit to EasyFuel Corporate Headquarters in Lagos last week, the Regional Territorial Manager, Central Africa, GVR, Mr. Jaques Van Der Merwe, said the global trend of cashless transactions and the wide acceptance that the cashless fueling system has enjoyed in other parts of Africa made it imperative for Nigeria.

He said, 'If you look at the huge business benefits that the system has and the sophistication of the average Nigerian, you will agree with me that Nigeria is ready to transit and embrace cashless transactions, especially, in fueling. Most transactions in the developed world are cashless and even some countries of the developing world, even in Africa, he said have embraced the system.

'South Africans, for instance, are hooked on the system. It was unprecedented. As long as the security of the system was guaranteed, the people of South Africa were convinced and I can tell you that it is a huge success over there.
