OGD PLOTTING TO MAKE OGUN UNGOVERNABLE, AMOSUN CRIES OUT

By NBF News

Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has cried loud that there are plans by some unscrupulous persons who have concluded plans to destabilize his government of the state.

In a press statement signed by the governor's Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communications, Mrs. Funmi Wakama, the group of people whose identities she did not disclose had been meeting with a view to destabilizing the state.

Making a veil reference to the former Governor of the State,  Otunba Gbenga Daniel, who returned to the country last week,  Amosun said: 'The destabilization plot  which is through inciting the people against the government is led and financed by a former top elected official of government and it held a meeting last Thursday.''

The governor's aide added that the meeting was attended by representatives of transport workers, students and politicians loyal to the former elected official. She adds: 'Surprisingly, a policeman said to be representing certain interest in the state command was at the meeting where the plan was put in place to ensure that the new administration was distracted and discredited. Wakama stated that the plan of the group, including assigning students with 'the  responsibility of mobilizing their colleagues on the campuses of seven higher institutions and start some violent protests against the new administration over trumped-up issues.

The students are also to issue press statements to condemn the administration and issue deadlines on several issues. The transporters have been instructed to put some of their members and loyalists as passengers in commercial buses conveying passengers from one part of the state to the other as well as from the state to Lagos.'' She also stated that phoney passengers moving across Abeokuta, Ijebu Ode, Sagamu, Ilaro, Ijebu Igbo, Ayetoro and from these towns to Lagos were to be used.

Some politicians and aides of the former elected official were also to start bombarding the media with different statements which would distract the Amosun-administration and put all its activities in bad light. The plan of the group was to ensure that the Amosun administration was kept so busy that it would have no time to look at the acts of impunity, illegality and fraud committed by the past administration in

the state.
'We gathered that the first tranche of the funds meant for the plot was released at the weekend. Interestingly, a national newspaper had in its June 5 edition, exclusively reported that a group, loyal to the former administration in the state had put together N50 million war chest to sponsor media campaign against the Ogun State Government.

However, intelligence reports had indicated that the report is actually true.

Amosun through her Aide stated: 'We call on the state police commissioner to put his men on the alert and ensure that no politician or group of politicians re-enact the volatile and dangerous situation of the recent past in the state where lives and properties were constantly imperilled.
