FORGET ALL AFRICA GAMES, BLACK QUEENS TELL FALCONS

By NBF News

Decision of Coach Eucharia Uche to exclude foreign-based players in the last weekend All Africa Games qualifier against the Black Queens might have backfired as the visitors shared points with Falcons in their first leg match played at the Abuja National Stadium.

Falcons confirmed the fears of bookmakers, who had raised alarm over the exclusion of foreign-based players by playing unco-ordinated style of football from start till the end of the match.

The girls, however, scored through Desiree Oparanozie in the 76th minute which was cancelled four minutes later by Janet Owusu.

After the encounter, jubilant Ghanaians asked their Nigerian counterparts to forget any thought of playing at the All Africa Games, promising to complete the damage they started in Nigeria back home. According to Ghana's Coach, Kuuku Dadzie, who came with the national Under-20 team, no amount of foreign professional in the Nigerian team will stop his team's ambition after it had been booted by Nigeria in the Olympics.

' This draw is just the right tonic we needed to book a place at the All Africa Games and we will not allow it slip by our hands.'Do you know that we prosecuted this match with our female Under-20 squad and I am happy with their performance.'Nigeria should bury any ambition of playing at the All Africa Games because we have the ticket in our hands', the coach said.

Meanwhile, Coach Eucharia shunned the Nigerian Press after the match, choosing to keep mum over the performance of her team.
