OBJ'S DAUGHTER, OLURIN, KASHAMU BEHIND ATTACK ON ME - AMOSUN

By NBF News

The Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) gubernatorial candidate in the state, Senator Ibikunle Amosun has relieved the attack on him in Ilaro and Ajilele, both in Yewa South Local Government Area of the state, alleging that Senator Iyabo Obasanjo-Bello and others were behind it.

Amosun was allegedly attacked alongside some members of his party by suspected opponents at the two Yewa towns on Friday last week. The ACN gubernatorial hopeful, who addressed journalists at his Government Reserved Area (GRA), Ibara, Abeokuta residence with bandage round his head (arising from injuries he sustainedduring the attack), accused the PDP gubernatorial candidate, Olurin and his financiers, Prince Buruji Kashamu as master minds.

His words: 'As I'm talking to you, I have it on good authorities that they held a meeting overnight and one of their financier, called Buruji Kashamu gave them money, they mentioned, General Olurin, they mentioned Iyabo Obasanjo as culprits.'' He added that there were other names mentioned, who were allegedly given money to prevent us from passing through.

'We are law abiding people, but we would not fold our arms and allow ourselves to be molested by people that are afraid of our soaring popularity when they are not campaigning but planning to rig the election.

'We would not allow this to happen. They did it in 2007 with some of them telling me that as the gubernatorial candidate of the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), I won the election. We would not allow that to happen again this time around.''

Reacting to the allegation, the Olurin Campaign Organisation condemned the allegation that Olurin and Buruji Kashamu were behind the attack. In a statement issued by the Chairman of the Media and Publicity of Olurin, Olootu Lai Labode said it was disturbing that anyone could attempt to link the PDP governorship candidate or his supporters with the attack.
