FAYEMI SHOULD SURRENDER HIS BLACKMARKET JUDICIAL VICTORY TO A REVIEW - ONI

By Lere Olayinka

Former Governor of Ekiti State, Chief Olusegun Oni has challenged the judiciary installed governor of the State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi to surrender the black-market judgment he purchased from the Justice Isa Ayo Salami-led Appeal Court to a Judicial Review, saying; “the governors call that I should be tried and jailed for 'stealing votes'

will be taken serious only if he is bold enough to support a review of the judicial victory awarded him by Justice Salami and his 'trusted'

men.”
He lamented the continuous assault on the intelligence of Nigerians by a group of people, who ordinarily should be tied to a stake and fired for heinous crimes ranging from forgery, murder, drug peddling, electoral malpractices and bribery.

According to the release issued by his Chief Media Aide, Wale Ojo-Lanre, the former governor said he was not afraid to face any competent panel of seasoned and respected jurists for a review of all elections held in Ekiti State between 2007 and 2010 and court judgments arising from them.

The former governor said the inquiry would expose those who set the Ido/Osi Local Government's Independent National Electoral Commission

(INEC) office ablaze only to head for the tribunal, asking INEC to proof that election was conducted by producing the voting materials they already destroyed.

“It is lamentable that the same characters that destroyed thousands of votes in Okemesi, Iro, Ijero and other areas where violent was unleashed on Ekiti people during the elections are the ones opening their filthy mouths to talk about sending other people to jail for stealing votes.

“If we may ask Fayemi and his ilk, what has now happened to Peter Oladosu (Erinmoje), who was asked to lie that he was the one that set Ido INEC office ablaze? Has he not been given appointment by 'Saint'

Fayemi? A man, who sworn to an affidavit that he committed crime is now Fayemi's man Friday and here he is insulting our collective sensibilities.

“Where is Dr. Azeez Olaniyan, a supposed independent election observer, who came to the tribunal to testify against the election?

Has he not been appointed as the Caretaker Committee Chairman of Ekiti South West Local Government? Or what do you call a situation where an 'independent election observer' was rewarded with an appointment by Fayemi?

“Even the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) voters register was forged and the party chairman, Jide Awe was beaten blue black by thugs led by Niyi Adedipe. And today, Adedipe now follows Fayemi's convoy to wherever he goes.

“Honestly, we are not afraid of trial but Fayemi and other beneficiaries of the fraud that is threatening to destroy our judiciary must show their support for a review of all the judgements on elections in Ekiti State that had passed through the Election Tribunals and the Court of Appeal.

“This is necessary as it would reveal the real election riggers, who have perfected crude way of getting electoral victories through the back door and yet climbed the roof top to accuse others of undemocratic practices.”
