In the spirit of Valentines Day celebrations, D'yard Entertainment, one of the happening hangouts/event centres in Surulere, Lagos, is organizing a special concert tagged Rock D'yard, with two of Nigeria's finest hip-hop artistes, 9ice and Wande Coal on parade.

Holding in the evening of today at D'yard's Complex located along Lawanson Road, the night of fun and entertainment will also feature performances from up and coming artistes alongside some comedians, who'll help spice the night up. There will also be dance competitions for members of the audience, with lots of prizes for winners.

The groove will also feature the public presentation of the finalists for D'yard music talent hunt, an initiative aimed at grooming young talents for the already booming Nigerian music industry. The finalists are expected to slug it out on a yet to be disclosed date, with a brand new car for the eventual winner and a recording contract.

Speaking with us, the CEO of the hangout, Gbolahan Lawanson, informed that the idea behind the event was to create an atmosphere for Nigerians to relax and fill their ears with good music from the invited artistes.

'Valentine is a season of love and we thought it wise to bring these two artistes for our customers and guests. It's going to be a loaded night of music and entertainment and we've done everything possible to make it a hitch free event.' On the choice of the two artistes, Lawanson hinted thus, 'this is not the first time we are hosting a show of this magnitude. We've hosted notable artistes here such as, D'Banj and the Mo Hits crew, DJ Zeez and the rest.

So, this time around, we decided to get new set of artistes that command large fans base and you will testify that 9ice and Wande have that capacity. These two guys have paid their dues in the industry and you know the quality of their works. At D'yard, we are very particular about quality and that's what we've been doing over the years.

Aside the concert, this is another opportunity for fun lovers to have a feel of the new D'yard, which boasts of large open space, exclusive VIP and VVIP bars, restaurant and special suya spot.'

Meanwhile, D'yard recently staged a special party to unveil artistes for the show. The night had notable entertainment personalities including 9ice, Ernest Obi and a host of others who grooved till the early hours of the following day.
