Elders, aspirants and party stalwarts, who took part in the primary elections for the Senate, House of Representatives and the state Assembly have written series of petitions to the leadership of Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, Lagos State.

The politicians, who are from Surulere are kicking against the results released on January 13, by the leadership of the party.

The petitioners, angry with the processes of the primaries, sent the petition to Chief Ajomale, state Chairman and also copied the national leader of ACN, Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu and pleaded with him for urgent reaction.

The petition, by Alhaji L. Odunsi, Colonel R. Ajala (rtd), Chief D. Adenekan, Mr. M. Azeez, Chief T. Oduneye, Chief F. Coker and Dr. Kayode Quadri, under the platform of Surulere Leaders Forum, noted that the results, which were released by ACN 'have created a lot of tension and acrimony in Surulere Constituency I and II, principally because the votes cast were not counted in the presence of any of the aspitrants and their agents.'

The petitioners said that they 'reject in totality, the imposition of candidates in both constituencies except House of Assembly in constituency I, Hon. Kabiru Lawal whose position was reconsidered only recently'.

The political leaders in Surulere noted that the questionable results released by ACN in the area have created a lot of tension and acrimony amongst the people of Surulere.

'It will be extremely appreciated, if urgent correction is reflected to redress the situation before it gets out of hands so that our party can continue to stand out', said the petitioners.
