SAN FRANCISCO, Jan 23, (THEWILL) – Presidential candidate of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), Mallam Nuhu RIbadu today said incumbent President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan would lose the April Presidential election just like his counterparts in Ivory Coast, kenya, Zimbabwe, Guinea and Ghana.

Ribadu made the declaration in his ward in Yola, Adamawa State after registering to vote in the election at a registration unit. He was registered by the state Resident Electoral Commissioner, Barrister Kassim Gaidam.

While urging Nigerians to reject the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governments at all levels, he said the ‘power of incumbency is no longer the in-thing in emerging democracies.’

The former anti-graft agency pioneer boss said incumbents have lost elections in Africa lately and does not see why Jonathan and the PDP should not be next.

“We have seen incumbent Presidents lose elections. It has happened in so many African countries. All the elections that took place in Africa today, the incumbents have lost. They have lost in Ivory Coast, Guinea, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Ghana, and they are going to lose in Nigeria,” the Presidential candidate said.

“The difficulties that Nigerians have been made to live with are caused by the PDP. The ruling PDP has caused so much havoc and difficulty in this country, but I assure you that when I become President all these anomalies are going to be a thing of the past.

“The PDP has been in government for a little over a decade but our people have gained nothing from it. Naturally, Nigerians feel angry and cheated. Our people are justifiably disappointed especially when you realize that the PDP administration has earned far more money than any administration in the history of our country,” he added.

He urged voters to vote for the ACN, “the new and progressive party for the people of Nigeria, the progressive party of our country, the party that can bring the change we are talking about. I am the flag bearer and I am beginning the journey towards changing our country,” Ribadu further added.
