The primary election of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) into the Bomadi/Patani Federal Constituency of Delta State has generated controversy as two candidates emerged.

Dr Chris Ekiyor and Mr. Akpos-k Godspower are both claiming victory.

The confusion arising from the primaries was further heightened as they were both issued results sheet of emergence as the party's flag bearer to contest in the April 2011 general election.

One of the candidates, Godspower, who spoke with Daily Sun said he was the duly elected candidate, adding that he polled 8,930 votes while Ekiyor polled 100 votes.

He claimed that five votes were voided.
Continuing the aggrieved Akpos-k alleged that to his dismay, Ekiyor was parading himself as the winner of the primaries in some national newspapers, stressing that the result sheet as presented by the Returning Officer/party chairman, Mr. Amabiri Paul Azorbo, to him, gave credence to his candidature.

He also alleged that one Mr. Christopher Anthony who acclaimed himself as the secretary general of the party in Bomadi connived with his opponent to orchestrate their plot to undo him of his duly won primaries.

However, loyalists of Ekiyor dismissed Godspower's claims

Efforts to reach the state chairman of the (ACN), Mr. Adolo Okotiebo proved abortive .
