San Francisco, Jan 12, (THEWILL) – The Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) will field a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Mr. Muhammed Dele Belgore as its flag bearer in the Kwara State Governorship election in April.

Dele is the son of the later Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice Babatunde Mahmud Belgore.

He was elected today as the ACN consensus candidate at the party’s governorship primary in Ilorin, Kwara State.

The process was supervised by the officials of the electoral commission (INEC) and Professor Funmilayo Adekanye, of the ACN headquarters.

Speaking to correspondents after his election, Belgore said: “Our mission and vision is simple and it is direct as we are seeking the office of the Governor of Kwara State to change the face of governance that would allow every stakeholders to partake in the system and thereby bringing new lease of life to the members of the society in the state.

“It is a fact that unemployment is high and it is in every home in the state and the small scale businessman has lost all opportunities to earn a living because the economic conditions upon which business can thrive do not exist and this will be restored if I am elected in this April elections.

“Our target shall not be poverty alleviation but poverty eradication that would provide micro credit loans to market women and petty traders at low interest rates and encourage cottage industries to thrive in order to bring desired socio economic growth of the state,” the ACN candidate said.
