REDEDICATE YOUR LIVES TO CHRIST, DIYA PLEADS WITH NIGERIANS

By NBF News

Former Chief of General Staff, General Oladipo Diya (retd) has enjoined Nigerians to rededicate their lives, talents, time and treasures to the service of Jesus Christ, the society and the nation at large.

In addition, he charged them to make life worth living for others through meaningful and gainful contributions to the positive growth of the church and the society.

He gave the advice, while fielding questions from newsmen at the N250million fundraising for an ultra modern, Cathedral of the United African Methodist Evangelical Church, Abule-oja, Yaba, Lagos.

Diya, who is also Balogun of Odogbolu and Baba Ijo of the Church, while restating the need to be a cheerful giver reminded Nigerians, especially Christians, on the need to vigorously propagate the Christian faith through such donations. Such gestures, he noted would help in the re-structuring of the church and the environment and make for a conducive worship.

He lauded those who gave cheerfully and encouraged others to fervently emulate such kind gestures. In his welcome address at the event, the Baba Ijo highlighted some of the challenges surmounted in the quest for the meaningful reconstruction of the church as well as in meeting the new millennium expectations.

'It is through your very handsome donations that the church can conveniently execute such projects for immediate and subsequent expectations of our generations, as well as others, that we will all be very proud of,' Diya noted.
