Erstwhile Governor of Delta state, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan has condoled with Edo State Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole on the death of his wife, Clara Oshiomhole. A statement from the Uduaghan Campaign Organization issued on Wednesday described the death of Mrs. Oshiomhole as a great loss not only to the Oshiomhole family but to the good people of Edo State and Nigeria at large.

The statement observed that the success story of Oshiomhole right from his days in the labour movement to the Edo State Government House would have been incomplete without his dear wife who had stood by him all these years.

'My brief interaction with Clara revealed her as an unassuming wife and mother that wanted nothing but the success of her darling husband,' Uduaghan said.

Uduaghan lamented that Clara passed away at a time that her support for her husband was greatly needed to steer the ship of Edo State.

He urged the Edo State Governor to take heart and be consoled by the fact that death is only a transition to higher glory for those that know their God.

Presides over Re-run Election Committee
Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan is Chairman of the central co-coordinating committee for his re-run election and has appealed to party members especially the committee to work as a team in order to succeed, stating that PDP will win the re-run election convincingly and clearly 'we want to assure you that we will do everything humanly and spiritually possible to win'.

He explained that emphasis on the campaign should be centred more at the ward level as such members should actively participate in their wards saying 'The election is a PDP election not Uduaghan election'.

He assured the party that the committee will work hard to deliver the mandate given them.

The 41 man central co-coordinating Committee for the successful return of Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan for the re-run election was inaugurated with a charge to them to be loyal and committed to the mandate.

The committee was inaugurated by the State PDP Chairman, Barr. Peter Nwaboshi who stated that the committee members have the mandate of salvaging the name of PDP in the state saying. 'People are talking and watching us to see how credible the party will act'.

He explained that Delta state has been a PDP state since 1999 and will continue to be, he also tasked PDP faithful to work in unity to achieve this mission. 'We are the landlord of this state, tenants cannot chase us out of our house'.

He continued 'As we go for this re-run election let the spirit that guided us as party members in 1999 when we had nothing, lead us this time to victory'.

Chief Nwaboshi appealed to PDP faithful to be ready to work with the committee which has an advisory function to achieve success as all party members cannot be members of the committee.

He commended that Acting governor, Prince Sam Obi, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan and professor Amos Utuama for their loyalty and steadfastness to the party saying 'I thank them especially Dr Uduaghan for been steadfast and a good leader'.

In his remark, the Acting Governor, Prince Sam Obi commended the party for the confidence placed on them to serve and promised that they would work in unity to reclaim the stolen mandate of Dr Uduaghan.

He called on party faithful to bury any hatchet among them and work in unity to achieve the mandate of returning Dr Uduaghan as governor of the state as it was a task to be achieved by all PDP members.

Prince Obi stated that the campaign needs total mobilization of Deltans starting from the grass root level saying 'PDP cannot afford to lose, therefore returning PDP in the re-run is a task that must be achieved.
