PDP MAY REVISIT WAIVERGRANTED ATIKU SAYS GOV. AKPABIO – THE RATTLING AND FANTASY OF THE PRODUCT OF THE SCHOOL OF GARRISON POLITICS OF GENERAL OBASANJO! – TURAKI VANGUARD.

By Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze

We would have ignored the sad and misguided commentary of Gov Godswill Akapbio of Akwa-Ibom State on our Principal, Atiku Abubakar if not that he insisted on exhibiting his garrison politics being one of the finest products of the garrison and undemocratic politics of General Olusegun Obasanjo by asking his Campaign Team to further expand his attack on a man who if not for his pedigree and antecedents PDP would not have come into existence and democracy would have been truncated by the life Presidency of General Obasanjo project. For Gov Godswill Akapbio to have stated that he is not sure of the membership of Atiku Abubakar of PDP simply demonstrates that he is either ignorant of the party's constitution or that he is still living with the illusionary belief that PDP as currently constituted is still the type of PDP under General Olusegun Obasanjo where falsehood and undemocratic practices were the hallmarks of the party and where few cabals meet to take a stand against those that doesn't share some of their undemocratic acts. The fact remains that we find it hard to understand why Gov Akapabio should try to present a falsehood he fully knows the impact. As much as he is free to support the candidature of President Jonathan for obvious reasons of getting reprieve to be imposed on the people of Akwa Ibom State he should do it discreetly without embarrassing himself as he has done on his unwarranted attack on Atiku Abubakar whose inputs and contributions on the democratization of PDP was and is very glaringly and crystal clear to the entire world. To have exposed to Nigerians that he was not sure that due process was followed in granting waiver to Atiku and that a Screening Committee to solely screen Atiku Abubakar membership shows either ignorance of the party's constitution or that a hidden agenda is being hatched to disrupt the emergence of Atiku Abubakar as the flag-bearer of PDP for the 2011 general elections but we are unperturbed as the National Chairman of PDP Dr Nwodo has cleared every doubt about the waiver and membership of PDP by Atiku Abubakar. Governor Akpabio and his likes should accept the fact that no amount of falsehood or propaganda will scuttle the presidential bid of Atiku Abubakar so far Nigerians have made up their minds to have a sound, focused and visionary leader in the person of Atiku Abubakar as its next President.

The fact remains that Nigerians now have a choice between experience and inexperience, and vision against lack of purpose and direction as well as clarity of direction for the future of Nigeria against attempt to force an unwilling president on Nigeria again. For a Presidency to attempt to bribe Pastor Tunde Bakare's led Save Nigeria Group (SNG) in whatever form it is termed whether transportation or bribe; portrays a government that is desperate to cling to power no matter the odds against it as its ineptitude leadership will drag the nation to the mud. For President Jonathan to ask for a $4 billion [N600 billion] foreign loan even when it was yet to identify a lender, much less negotiate the terms, or even work out the details of the projects on which the loans are to be expended shows the un-seriousness of this administration and we are convinced that the National Assembly will not for any reason grant or permit this administration permission to get any loan as its lacks the vision and economic management to invest wisely. Based on all these lapses we pray that PDP members will see reason to ensure that Atiku Abubakar gets the ticket of the party to formally stop the evil legacy of General Obasanjo of undemocratic politics which disciples like Akpabio are exhibiting.

Atiku's candidacy in the forthcoming elections is the clearest vision by far for this country with a clear roadmap for a prosperous, secure, peaceful, democratic, caring and confident nation; employment generation and wealth Creation, power generation and infrastructural development, security, good governance and war against corruption, education, health and social services and finally the Niger Delta.
