TAIWO and Kehinde Adegbodu, the famous gospel musician twins are definitely not good role models if indeed they committed the offence for which they are being accused.

The Adegbodu twins became popular in the late 90s as upcoming gospel artistes with their photographs adorning most concert posters.

They ruled the gospel music scene till early 2002 with their fans base cutting across the old and the young.

They went solo after another set of twins, Ajogbajesu, was discovered by an Ibadan-based music marketer, Bisi Voice.

Their career was to be later revived by Yinka Ayefele who introduced them to his marketer, Aloy Productions. Aloy not only produced their album, he also empowered them.

“I gave them a Mazda bus worth over N1 million just to encourage them because I saw talent in them.

“In our agreement, they signed for three records and have only recorded one entitled Bojuwomi, which was released about two years ago” said Sesan Abeleje, CEO of Aloy Productions in a chat with Rhythms and Vibes.

But that is not the story here. The twins were later approached by the CEO of Lords Promotions, Segun Okeowo-Akinloye for a record deal and the twins agreed.

“I asked them if they have any existing contract with any marketer or promoter and they said 'No.' It was then I gave them N130, 000 to go and record an album.

“I have the receipts and other documents with me. It baffled me when I later discovered that they had taken the master tape to Aloy Productions.

“I asked Aloy and he said he also gave them N250, 000 to record an album for him You can just imagine the kind of twins they are,”said Okeowo who vowed to deal with them.
Speaking with Rhythms and Vibes on Tuesday, one of the twins said they only have a record deal with Aloy Productions.

“As for Lords Promotions, he met us at a church concert and said he's willing to take us on a musical tour abroad and nothing more.”

But why did you collect N130, 000 from him to record an album only to go and give same to another marketer?, Rhythms and Vibes asked

The twins became tongue-tied. They could not give a satisfactory answer but promised to come and see the writer for more explanations.

Rhythms and Vibes will keep you posted as event unfolds on this matter.
