Alkali expressed optimism that the party will recapture the state in the re-run election. He called on members of the party to remain calm, saying that the incident is a set back for the party.

''This is an incremental damage because it is one case too many. It is really a shock to the PDP especially as it came barely a month after that of Ekiti, it is really a setback for the party, but we are sure of recapturing the state, the people and party members should remain calm'', he said.
