Despite National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLE)'s stand on Yoruba movie actress' Hassanat Akinwande's request for material help, the actress has gone ahead to finish work on the movie which she completed a few days ago.

Roll Tape learnt from Prince Jide Kosoko who directed the movie that despite NDLEA's action "we always have a way of doing our own things."

The Association of Nigerian Theatre Arts Practitioners president frowned at NDLEA's position wondering why they were only interested in arresting culprits and not checkmating drug trafficking from the source.

He told RT that the movie used locations such as Lagos Airport, Kirikiri Prisons and other locations in Ikorodu, Sagamu, Epe and other places in Lagos.

Kosoko said the story was presented the way the actress herself told the story, just as he said that he was disappointed at NDLEA's pussyfooting over the project.

According to Kosoko, Wunmi was taking a risk shooting such a film at a time like this. RT was also told that all those that matter in the Yoruba movie sector of Nollywood took part in the movie, except a few people who were not in the country during the shooting.

Kosoko said the large presence of the "who is who" in the Yoruba sector was a show of solidarity with the actress.

On the sale of the National Theatre, the ANPP president said it was a pity that instead of funding arts and culture in Nigeria as obtained in the other countries of the world, the Nigerian government was only interested in selling the people's heritage, adding that it was not a sensible thing to do.

He added that reforms would continue to take place within the ANTP fold irrespective of the actions of a few individuals who are interested in opting out of the association to form their own little groups.
