Popular Nollywood actor, Ernest Asuzu has been sent to Kirikiri Maximum Security Prison, Apapa, for allegedly destroying items worth N433,000 in a barbing salon at 94, Ago Palace way, Okota. Asuzu's journey to prison began on 23 July when he went to a salon belonging to Mrs. Tina Enenozor and destroyed the items after a disagreement. The mentally unstable actor, gathered, went to the salon to see a friend, identified as Anthony, who allegedly collected N5,000 on his behalf during Asuzu's album launch.

A disagreement was said to have ensued between him and Anthony during which Asuzu reported the matter to the police at Okota who arrest Anthony and one of his friends.

The men were later released on bail by the police but this did not go down well with Asuzu who stormed the salon and destroyed barbing items, including a television set, fan, glass, a stereo set and others things, all worth N433,000.

The matter was reported to the police and Asuzu was arrested. The actor was later arraigned before an Isolo magistrate's court for wilful damage of salon items belonging to Mrs. Enenozor.

He pleaded not guilty to the charge and was granted bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties.

Asuzu could not, however, meet the bail conditions and he was ordered to be remanded at the Kirikiri Maximum Security Prison, while his trial was fixed for Wednesday, 8 August 2007.

Asuzu last year stormed the premises of Murhi International Television (MITV) and destroyed broadcasting equipment worth millions of naira in a fit of uncontrolled rage.

He was arrested by the police and sent to the Yaba Psychiatric Hospital for examination.
