KADUNA UTD LIFTS FEDERATION CUP

Coach Maurice Cooreman has inspired Kaduna United to win this year's Federation Cup, defeating his former club, Enyimba International of Aba in a keenly contested duel at the Sani Abacha Stadium.

A tearful cooreman, who left Enyimba two seasons ago, could not stop the joy of winning the Federations Cup which had eluded his CV having won all trophies since coming to Nigeria.

The match ended 3-3 at regulation time, but Kaduna United shocked the last year's winner, Enyimba, in the ensuing penalty shoot out by 4-2.

Bola Bello opened scoring for Kaduna Utd in the 29th minute from the penalty spot, while Femi Balogun made it two for Kaduna Utd in the 34th minute. Magnus Iwuoha pulled one back for Enyimba from the penalty spot in the 36th minute.

Kaduna United went for break with a two goal lead thanks to Bola Bello's goal in the 40th minute .

Valentine Nwabili brought back hope for Enyimba as he scored a fantastic second goal via a free kick from over 30 meters, while Atanda Shakibu levelled up for the Aba millionaires in the 50th minute.

From then on, the game went without more goals until the centre referee signalled the end of regulation time.

The two teams went into frenzy as a winner must emerge. Magnus Iwuoha, Daddy Bazuaye and Inah Ofen lost their spot kicks for Enyimba, while Bola Bello lost his for the champion.
