A popular disc jockey, Imohiosen Patrick, aka, DJ Neptune, has vehemently spoken against taking of alcohol for music Inspiration. He insists that he does not have to take alcohol to be at his best.

In an interview with Sunday Scoop, he spoke against the erroneous perception people have that every entertainer take alcohol before they sing. He however cleared the air that he doesn't necessarily need to drink before he makes something productive.

“I drink when I feel there is a need to. People have perception that entertainers always have to get intoxicated for them to be at their best. But, for me, it’s not like that. Some people just do it for the lifestyle and the paparazzi. However, there should always be a time when one has to ask, ‘Is it really adding value’?”

Neptune also urged African artistes to stay united. He said, “I don’t care what anybody says, Africa is the new gold. Irrespective of me being from the western part of Africa, I believe it is one Africa at the end of the day. The moment we go into the battle ring as a unified item, the outcome would be sweeter and bigger. Amapiano originated from South Africa, and it has been embraced by people from other parts of the continent. We should be united. It is not about who did it first; the question is, ‘Are we winning’? Music is a universal language. If one does it right, one would win.”
