Julia Garner to play as Madonna in biopic, The Rock stars in Black Adam

Hollywood actor, Julia Garner will play the role of the Queen of Pop music, Madonna in the forthcoming biopic.

The project has long been in the works, with Madonna herself reportedly directing and handpicking its cast.

Sources told the publication that Garner has emerged as the favourite of more than a dozen candidates, and is expected to accept the offer and play the epic role of the classic queen.

The film is to a production of Universal Pictures and follows Madonna's early days in the New York dance scene, to her status as the '80s queen of reinvention.

When announcing the biopic, Madonna said she hopes it will, "convey the incredible journey that life has taken me on as an artist, a musician, a dancer and a human fighting to make her way in this world".

"The focus of this film will always be music. Music has kept me going and art has kept me alive. There are so many untold and inspiring stories and who better to tell it than me. It's essential to share the roller coaster ride of my life with my voice and vision," the 63-year-old stated.

On a similar note, Dwayne Johnson catches a rocket in first trailer for the movie, ‘Black Adam’. The film is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra (Jungle Cruise) and follows the story of Black Adam who after being imprisoned for 5,000 years breaks free from his tomb and encounters the Justice Society Of America in the modern world.

The film boosts of a stellar in persons like Pierce Brosnan, Sarah Shahi, Marwan Kenzari and a host of others.

The former wrestler, The Rock spoke of his involvement in the project,

"This film has been a gigantic passion project of mine for a very long time. The film has without question some of the biggest action sequences I have ever been a part of.”

Black Adam is expected to be released in cinemas on October 21, 2022.
