CAF CONFED CUP:ENYIMBA, ZANACO IN MAKE OR BREAK TIE

By NBF News

It is a make or break weekend in Africa as 16 teams will battle it out in a two legged play-off matches for one of the eight spots in the final group phase of the CAF Confederations Cup.

The most exciting game of the weekend will probably be the encounter between Zambia's Zanaco and Nigeria's Enyimba as the game is sure to produce goals. Enyimba's fans, though, will be hoping on their attacking team and not its fumbling defence .

Enyimba has shown in its previous play-off matches that it either runs extremely hot or sluggishly cold having conceded three goals in the first leg and then scoring three in the second. Only a successful penalty shoot-out had seen it to the point where it will face a team, that is consistent both in defence and attack, Zanaco.

It is its last shot at African glory as the winners of the two-legged matches will make one of the two groups in the next phase. It will then compete in a league format for a semi-final spot in the competition, while the losers of the play-off matches will exit from the continental showpiece.

It is, therefore, important, that the teams get off to a good start this weekend.

The upcoming matches, however, will see the likes of Enyimba of Nigeria and Caps United of Zimbabwe, who have fought hard to progress to the present level having played in a number of pre-qualifying games, face their toughest challenge as they take on the powerhouses that have been axed from the African Champions league.
