The National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) has introduced a new import an export license regime whereby importation and exportation of movies are to be covered by license issued by the Board.
Import license fee is N100,000.00 ( one hundred thousand naira) annually while export fee is N20,000.00 (twenty thousand naira) annually.

Consequently, the NFVCB's South-South zonal co-ordinator, Mr. Caesar O. Kagho has urged all importers and exporters of movies in the South-South zone to appreciate the need to acquire these licenses from the zonal headquarters.
In a circular issued from the Board's head office in Abuja and signed by Mr. Rotimi Martins, Deputy Director, Monitoring and Compliance, all video outlets not presently registered by the board are covered by the new distribution framework in an effort to instill security and structures in the production and distribution of film and video work, in Nigeria.

According to a press release issued by the board's South-South Zonal Public Relations Officer, Mr. Desmond Aduba, only those already registered by the board will be allowed to renew their registration on the old regime for one year, before they would need to migrate to the new distribution framework at the expiration of the one-year grace.
