Nigeria's ace movie director, Lancelot Imasuen will this weekend get married to his lovely fiancé at an elaborate wedding to be held in Benin, Edo State. He spoke briefly to nollywoodgists.com about his fiancé, how they met and how she got attracted to him.

Excerpts:

Can you tell us a bit about her?

My wife's name is Aimumwosa Igebor. She is an accountant by training. She works in a consultancy firm in Lagos. We met about a year ago and I am
convinced it was divine.

Can you shed more light on how your paths crossed?

(Laughs) Some time last year I traveled to Benin City to see my family. We met at Edegbe Bus Park while I was coming to Lagos. One way or the other we got talking and I discovered she is the kind of woman who is meant for me.

How did she attract you?

We got into the bus and we were seated together. It was an interesting journey because virtually everyone in the bus was engaged in discussions. Suddenly,
someone called my attention and asked if I am Lancelot Imasuen. I replied in the affirmative and everyone in the bus commented on my jobs and she also gave a good remark about my efforts in Nollywood. We met in Lagos the next day and I took her for launch. We did not get to see ourselves again until after four months.

When did you propose to her?

I proposed to her on my birthday, June 22, 2006. I was in the United States of America then shooting in Hollywood. Interestingly, she hung-up on me. I was angry because I did not get response I wanted from her. Immediately I got back to Nigeria she was the first person that called me. I further got convinced that it was not mere coincidence. Today we thank God for his mercies.

What is that unique thing about her?

My job makes me serious but she has a way of making me feel relaxed when she is around or while speaking on phone.

What would you say about her parents?

She is from a good background. She told me initially that her father is very strict but I told her the first day I would meet her father we would be best of friends. In fact her mum was surprised at her father's disposition to me.

Where would the honeymoon take place?

We don't intend to make it public. Though there would be an elaborate thanksgiving service my church (Overcomers Church) in Lagos. I will resume work on 14th May, 2007.
