GHANAIAN ACT FOR GBEDU AWARDS

Los Angeles-born Ghanaian music star, Nana King, has arrived Nigeria for the 2006 Gbedu Awards which will take place at Liberty Hall, Victoria Island, on 25 February. Before the awards a nominees' party will take place at Page Bar and Lounge, Opebi, tomorrow. Other Ghanaian artistes expected to arrive in Nigeria today for the awards include, the Kiss Your Bride crooner, Bollie, KK Fosu, Mezbel among others. Their Nigerian counterparts who have been nominated for the awards include Soul-E, D'banj, Paul Play, Weird MC, Ikechukwu, Zdon, Obiwon, P-Square and others. According to the president of the award's organising committee, Morris Jackson, popularly known as MC Morris, “Gbedu Awards is organised to encourage a lot of people who have contributed to the development of the Nigerian music industry. “This particular edition will focus on works that were released between January and December 200.” Morris boasted that the award, which is jointly organised by Labour Entertainment and Fortune Television, will be a benchmark in the entertainment industry.
