KATSINA PDP TO PURSUE PATH OF UNITY, SAYS NEW CHAIRMAN

By NBF News

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Katsina State is to initiate more strategies that will promote the unity and commitment of all its faithful to the party's progress. The new Chairman of the party, Rabiu Gambo Bakori, stated this when he received the 34 local government council chairmen, the secretaries and the elected leaders of the councils in the state on a solidarity visit at the PDP headquarters.

Bakori, who expressed appreciation over their visit, noted the efforts made by the councils' chairmen in the successful conduct of the recent ward, local government and state congresses of the party. He pointed out that the unity and cooperation, accorded to the party, during the congresses attested to the fact that the party was intact across the state.

He posited that the ruling party had performed creditably well in all sectors of human endeavours in the state. This, he said, was evident from the various efforts being made by the government in the execution of developmental projects with direct bearing on the lives of the people of the state. Bakori equally commended the local councils for their prudent management of funds, which enabled them to execute meaningful projects.

He seized the opportunity to commend various organisations that had been rooting for the PDP over their efforts in promoting the party. The chairman, however, urged such organizations to liaise with the PDP headquarters before embarking on any mobilization drive. He assured people that the PDP-led government would not relent on its efforts in enhancing their well being as more dividends of democracy would be brought to their doorsteps.

According to him, the continued support for the party as well as government policies and programmes were indispensable for the development of the state. Earlier, the chairman of the Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON), Katsina State, Aliyu Haruna Jani, said the visit was to congratulate the PDP chairman over his election during the recent congress of the party and to re-affirm their unflinching support to the PDP-led administration in the state.

Haruna Jani added that the council chairmen would remain loyal and supportive to the administration considering the developmental projects it had been executing in their local governments.
