NEW ACTRESSES EMERGE IN NOLLYWOOD

In the past two years, the Nigerian movie industry (Nollywood) has witnessed the emergence of new actresses. Some people attribute the development to the “exit” of top Nollywood star actresses such as Genevieve Nnaji, Omotola Ekeinde etc following the ban on them by the marketers.

Although, the ban has been lifted, these top actresses are yet to return to Nollywood. Some of them like Genevieve and Omotola have even ventured into music and other areas of interest. However, these new entrants are also making waves in the make believe industry; they include:-

Nkeiru Obi Okoye:- She is a law student of Madona University Okija in Anambra State. She debuted in Franca Brown's 'Women at Large' (The Revelation).

Joy Ekeojo Egbuni:- This Kogi State born dark beauty came into limelight after taking part in the movie, “Just before the wedding”. She has also acted in movies like “Bumper to Bumper”, 'Tear of the Ghetto,' The champ,' 'Living Dead' and just took part in the Amstel Malta Movie Sitanda'.

Ifeoma Okeke:- This buxom beauty has a diploma in Theatre Arts from Lagos State University. She has featured in movies like 'Indecent Girl', 'Treasurers', Mr. Ibu I & 2 etc.

Suziette Uke:- The beautiful light complexioned actress has featured in minor roles in some flicks, but she is now set to take the industry by storm. She has played major roles in 'bottleneck', 'Faces', 'sister in law' and 'unseen eye'.

Susan Peters:- Pretty, tall and dark with charming smile, she has featured in Domino TV series and other movies, she is also a model.

Biola Adebayo:- The beautiful lead actress in the movie “Eyin Oka” which shot her to limelight, is presently in the new super story running on air.

Mercy Johnson: This dark and innocent looking beauty hit the movie world few years back and is still waxing strong. She has featured in movies like 'The maid,' 'Kill, The Bride', House Party and lots more.

Ufoma Elenobor:- The new face of Glo, was twice a second runner-up in the Miss Nigeria beauty contest. She has taken part in the movie, 'Body Guard,' and some others. She is presently in Lagbaja's band. She is a French graduate of University of Lagos.

Gloria Mba: She is currently a mass communication student of University of Lagos. The light-skinned young lady has taken part in movies like 'Beautiful Faces', 'Love Moment of Truth, 'Just Before the Wedding' and also in soaps like 'Every Day People', 'Behind the Siege' and us'.

Vivian Richards: She is a graduate of University of Lagos and has acted in the Movie 'Street and Home' among others.
