At last Senate swears-in Igbeke, dumps Emordi

The Senate today  swore in Alphonsus Igbeke as Senator representing Anambra North Senatorial District after a three year legal battle with Joy Emordi.

Emordi had tried severally to block Igbeke from being admitted in the upper house

Though the Court of Appeal declared Igbeke as the duly elected senator in the 2007 election, the senate leadership refused to recognize him and turned him back when he showed up for work.

Today's searing in puts an end to the illegal tenure of Emordi.
