Actress Working with Gov. Rochas Rejected my Call for Help…Actor, Obi Madubogwu

Ailing Nollywood actor and producer, Obi Madubogwu, is recuperating from a near-fatal bout with diabetic sore, at the Federal Medical Centre, Ebute Metta, Lagos, but he is still full of thanks to God and Nigerians.

In tears, the actor, who just turned a year older, while celebrating his birthday which was planned by few friends, disclosed that he has been neglected by many stars in the industry even those he helped.

He went on to reveal that an actress, who once worked for governor Rochas Okorcoha, was contacted for help and she vehemently ignored his calls.

Obi stated that such attitude was so sad knowing that her first movie role was given to her by him and a little help to save his life was too much for her to do.

In his words, he said, “I am truly thankful for the people who have been of help to me. But I am surprised at the behaviour of some of the stars whom I helped shape their film careers. Some have received cumulative acting fees from me running into tens of millions of Naira. I remember one who works with Governor Okorocha. I was the one who gave her the first movie role. I called her on the phone once and after that she refused to pick my call subsequently. Many Nollywood stars disappointed me at the point of need, avoiding my phone calls; but God has been great, giving me support from unfamiliar places.”
