TO prevent dull moments at the 15th National Sports Festival tagged 2006 Gateway Games, arrangements have been concluded to bring Nollywood stars such as Segun Arinze, and notable musicians to the M.K.O. Abiola Stadium to entertain athletes and officials on daily basis.

Femi Carenna, head of the Gateway Games Entertainment Centre, said yesterday that the idea behind setting up the centre was to see that all visitors and indeed, participants at the Games, do not lack anything in terms of entertainment.

Carenna, who was head of the Nigeria '99 World Youth Championship Entertainment Centre in Lagos, said the centre would be open for business by 8 a.m. tomorrow, the opening day of the festival. The centre is located within the M.K.O. Abiola Stadium, Abeokuta.

According to Carenna, all security apparatuses have been put in place around the entertainment centre, as well as all venues where different events will hold.

He further hinted that some states, including Delta, Lagos and Edo, have expressed interest to be fully involved in the entertainment centre so as to showcase their tourism potential to visitors coming from different parts of the world to watch the Gateway Games.

Carenna hinted that bomb experts have been strategically located in all parts of Abeokuta to prevent any unwarranted incident throughout the period of the festival.

One of the actors and comedians expected to be part of the entertainment centre is MC Basket Mouth, who said yesterday that visitors to the centre would have more than a dose of entertainment on daily basis.

The Gateway Games will be declared open tomorrow in Abeokuta.
