Vanessa Simmons: We Needed A Glam Squad On ‘run’s House’

Before the Kardashians, there was the Simmons family.

The eldest of Rev Run's daughters, Vanessa Simmons, told Page Six she has no regrets about her family's 2005 reality show, “Run's House,” but she does wish more hair and makeup was involved.

“There are times when I'll be like, 'Oh my God, why didn't you tell me I needed to put a little bit of bronzer on?’” she recently told Page Six. “Because it was in the beginning stages of reality TV and there wasn't makeup … It was before the glam and all that.”

Although Simmons, now 33, may not have always looked her most glamorous on the show, she still enjoys watching reruns with her 3-year-old daughter, Ava.

“I love showing my daughter [“Run's House”]. It's like family albums,” she told us while in New York to speak at the Simply Stylist Conference. “The other day we were watching on MTV Classic and she was like … '[Our dog] is on TV!' So it's really sweet.”

Simmons attributes the authenticity of the show — and lack of makeup — to her father. “My dad wanted it to be very real. He was like, 'No, I want it to be exactly like we were living every day.’”

Sounds like Kris Jenner could learn a thing or two from the Reverend.
