- Accuses him of wife battering and unusual closeness to housegirl

When celebrity journal Global Excellence exclusively broke the story on Tuesday, January 25, 2005 that Gbenga Obasanjo's marriage to beautiful Moji was in trouble many thought it was not true. However, the divorce suit filed by Gbenga on Tuesday, December 28, 2005 with suit number ID/289 HD/05 by his lawyer, Addeh and Associates asking a Lagos High Court to dissolve the five years old marriage has opened a can of worms.

Be that as it may, Gbenga, the second son of President Obasanjo said in the divorce suit that he wants the marriage contracted on Saturday April 29, 2000 at Archbishop Vining Memorial Church, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos dissolved because the marriage has broken down and the wife has deserted him for a year, specifically since Friday 2 nd, December 2004. And that the father of his wife, Otunba Alex Onabanjo interfered too much in the marriage. He also alleged that his wife is not a good cook and very untidy.

However, all the allegations levelled by Gbenga against his wife have really infuriated bosom friends of the couple. A visibly angry insider blasted Gbenga “Gbenga should be ashamed of himself, how can he say for the past five years that he has been married to Moji, it's now, he realized that she is not a good cook and very untidy.

Has he not been eating her foods all these years?.”

That apart, close friends of the couple equally made some revelations about the real cause of why Moji packed out of her matrimonial home to Global Excellence. They said, that for years now, Gbenga has turned his beautiful wife into a punching bag and most times, he gives her a black eye. According to them, Gbenga has his father's temper running in his blood and whenever he gets into foul mood, Moji is always at the receiving end.

We were also told by them that when her father, Otunba Onabanjo got complaints from his beautiful daughter of the severe beatings from Gbenga, like a responsible father-in law, he talked to him several times about the need to stop beating his wife and treat her like a lady. And he refused to change from his violent ways, he asked the daughter to come back home so as to save her life.

That's not all, we also gathered from insiders that another major reason that made the union to hit the rock is Gbenga's unusual closeness to their house girl, called Ola.

They revealed, all these while, Moji had complained bitterly that she was not very happy about her husband's closeness to the house girl got for them by the mother in-law, Chief Mrs Oluremi Obasanjo from her church, the Redeemed Christian Church of God (Salvation Parish) GRA, Ikeja, Lagos. We equally gathered that, her pastor recommended the said house girl for the mother in-law.

It's interesting to know that apart from Gbenga's marriage that has broken down, other children of Mrs. Oluremi Obasanjo marriages have also hit the rocks. For instance, her first daughter, Dr. Iyabo Obasanjo-Bello who is the Commissioner for Health, Ogun State marriage to her American based husband has crashed and the couple now live apart.

Also, Busola, another of her daughter married to an Army officer has moved out of her matrimonial home.
