EX-OYO SSG, MONARCH RECALL HIS HUMILITY

A former Secretary to Oyo State Government, Chief Sharafadeen Alli , and the Soun of Ogbomosoland, Oba Jimoh Oyewumi Ajagungbade III, were among dignitaries that on Thursday expressed shock over the death of President Umaru Yar'Adua.

In a condolence message made available to our correspondent in Ibadan, Oyo State capital, the ex-SSG described Yar'Adua's death as shocking.

He however said it was heartening that while in office, the late president showed deep commitment towards the liberation of the nation through.

Oba Oyewunmi, in his condolence message, described Yar'Adua as a dynamic, humane, humble and consummate leader whose departure would be missed by all.

The traditional ruler said that while in office, Yar'Adua distinguished himself as a leader worthy of emulation with caring heart and love of the nation.

He said the late president deserved to be honoured and mourned by every Nigerian in view of the modest contributions he made to the socio-economic development of the nation.
