2005 AFRO HOLLYWOOD AWARDS - Short-list announced

African Voice Communications UK organisers of the annual West African Festival for Film, Arts and Culture (WAFEST) a.k.a Afro Hollywood Awards has announced the short-listed artistes for the 2005 Afro Hollywood Awards.
They are as listed in the attached document.

Winners will be selected by the viewing public who will have the opportunity to nominate their favourite artistes via a pre event 'Afro Hollywood Awards - Nominate Your Favourite Stars' TV/Radio programmes in the UK and Nigeria. Participating viewer will vote one each from each group and a Superstar to win our superstar prize of N1million – courtesy of Stanley Anyanwu Award.

Commenting on this year's short-list, Mike Abiola, CEO and founder of the awards, said, "African Voice established these awards to recognise excellence, encourage and support the growth of the film industry in Africa. We want to honour them for their outstanding contributions to our historical and contemporary cultural heritage. It is incumbent upon all of us - businesses and the media - to encourage the talented practitioners and contribute our quota to building a viable film industry. Afro Hollywood aims to create our own global superstars, who would be recognized internationally as the faces of some of the biggest consumer and lifestyle brands "

The winners of the 2005 Afro Hollywood Awards nominations will be announced at a parade of stars dinner/dance ceremony at Eko Hotel, Victoria Island, on Saturday 24 September.

The winners will join other West African artistes to be honoured at this year's award ceremony in the UK on 29th October 2005.

This years event will be packed with glitz and pageantry normally associated with the Oscars. It will be televised in Africa, Europe and America.
