The name Genevieve Nnaji may not be new to those who have a passion for Nigerian movies.

Now brace yourselves for a big do later this month because the Nigerian star, who was also voted the country's best actress of the year 2004 will be jetting in the country with a crew of seven other actors and actresses to perform at the Speke Resort Munyonyo.

They are Ramsey Noah, Adim Williams, Osita Iheme (popularly known as Paw paw), Chinedu Ikediegiou (Aki), 2Face Idibia (Nigerian best artiste 2004), Jalede Omotola and Jim Iyke.

According to Mr Mbayi Chijioke, producer and organiser of the event, the show is being organised in conjunction with Eagles Production and the Gombya's.

He said it has also attracted local artistes such as Bobi Wine and the Firebase crew, Mega Dee, Menton Crono, Grace Nakalema and the Amarula Family to perform.

Chijioke said the show will offer an opportunity for Ugandans to interact with the Nigerian stars face to face.

"Many Ugandans have been watching these award winning actors and actresses on television but here comes the chance for them to meet these people physically and interact with them," he said.

He added, "We want the Ugandan public to see that the people who act these movies are just ordinary human beings and any one can be like them,"

He said it is the first time the actresses are coming to East Africa and Uganda is the first country they are visiting.

After the show, the group will sign a deal with Ugandan actors and actresses in which the two countries will shoot a joint film depicting the effects of the HIV/Aids epidemic on Africa.

The documentary will be shot both in Uganda and Nigeria.

The show is expected to cost between Shs 15,000 and Shs 20,000 and will be held from April 22-24. The crew arrives in the country on April 19.
