PDP sets April 23 date for national convention

All appears set for the People’s Democratic Party to forge ahead despite avalanche of crisis facing it. The National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has fixed April 23 through May 21 2016 for its national convention to elect new principal officers.

This development was made known to the press by the Chairman of the party, Ali Modu Sheriff in Abuja after a joint marathon meeting of the National Executive Committee and members of the Board of Trustees that the convention will hold in Port Harcourt.

The report also disclosed that the National Working Committee of the party has also inaugurated four special committees to reconcile all aggrieved party members, prepare for the convention and work on the party's zoning policy
