SAN FRANCISCO, February 25, (THEWILL) – Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Thursday evening arrested Mr. Donald Chidi Amamgbo, the CEO of some oil companies that had very lucrative crude oil lifting deals while Mrs. Deziani Alison-Madueke served as Petroleum Minister.

The companies are Mezcor Oil and Gas Limited and Tridax Oil and Gas Limited, Lynear Energy Limited and Bulk Strategic Reserved Limited.

Amamgbo was detained in Lagos after EFCC operatives had executed a warrant to search his business office in Abuja and residence, where they found documents linking him to purchase of choice real estate assets and luxury vehicles.

THEWILL gathered from EFCC sources that he is being investigated because they believe he was a front for the former minister. They are premising their judgment on the fact that his companies, which had limited experience, lifted crude oil running into several millions of dollars throughout her four-year tenure as minister.

Amamgbo's arrest is coming after the detention of another close associate of both the former Minister and ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Mr. Jide Omokore, who was detained about a week ago by the EFCC for allegedly diverting revenue from the sale of crude oil due to the federal government from the Strategic Alliance Agreements (SAAs) between his Atlantic Energy Drilling Concepts and the Nigerian Petroleum Development Company (NPDC).
