BEVERLY HILLS, February 22, (THEWILL) – The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested the erstwhile Minister of Interior, Comrade Abba Moro, a former Permanent Secretary and a director in the ministry over the N650million immigration recruitment scandal.

They were detained on Monday.
THEWILL gathered that the trio would be charged to court on Tuesday over their role in the Nigerian Immigration recruitment exercise that left several applicants dead following a stampede at a few recruitment centres nationwide.

More than 6 million applicants paid N1, 000 (about $5) non-refundable application fee to “consultants” hired to fill the 5, 000 advertised openings.

The “consultants” are believed to be business associates of the former Minister.
