BEVERLY HILLS, December 15, (THEWILL) – As a way of attracting greater foreign direct investments into the country, President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday revealed the strong resolve of his government to block all loopholes in revenue generating agencies, increase their efficiency in trade facilitation and ensure transparency in all government businesses.

The President, who was quoted as saying this in a statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, disclosed that his administration would soon introduce more policies to further ease the process of doing business in Nigeria.

Speaking after a presentation at the Presidential Villa on enhancing Nigeria's trade and economic competitiveness, he explained that the new policies would be focused on increasing efficiency and transparency in government operations, and the blocking of leakages from revenue generating agencies.

Buhari added that the Nigeria Customs Service, Ministry of Trade, Industry and Investment, Ministry of Finance and other relevant agencies would be encouraged to adopt some of the positive ideas contained in the presentation for implementation next year.

Speaking earlier, a representative of the company that made the presentation, Mr Lim Chee Boon, had told the President that virtually all the countries that implemented its solutions have successfully reduced corruption in their import and export processes.
