NANS 2015: Time For Nigerian Students To Choose, Part 8
Dear Readers, there is no doubt that I have been away from the weekly series for Presidential aspirants of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) in the forthcoming National Convention.
However, I am back again with full network to analyse the remaining three most formidable candidates of NANS.
Today series will be that of a Prince of Ude-UManta in Ebonyi State, popularly known as Igwe Ude-Manta, an acclaimed Student of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Anambra State.
Let me quickly inform the general public little about Igwe, the Prince of Ebonyi State turned Street holder, before his aspiration he was the former Student Union President of the University of Abuja that was victimised due to his stands against the management of the University of Abuja on the increment of tuitions fee over five years ago.
As a matter of fact, I have never cares to ask Igwe of his manifestos and what he has in stock for the teeming Nigerian Students despite the fact that we are always together in Abuja because deeply inside my heart I know and we all knows that the Igwe Ude-Manta is an embodiment of intellectual and oratory prowess, as such, people's should always count on the Prince of Ebonyi State for quality and qualitative leadership.
As I write, 90% of the stakeholders of the NANS Zone 'B' (South-South and South-East) are not comfortable with the aspiration of Igwe based on the fact that he has NEVER been part of them, allowing Igwe to become the next NANS President is like allowing Barack Obama from the United State of American to become the President of the Federal Republic of Kenya which is impossible and may send a wrong signal to someone like me that is from Zone 'C' by birthday or origin.
For the purpose of posterity, I quite understand the frustrations of the stakeholders and people's of Zone 'B' regarding the aspiration of Igwe but things can always be sort out in there own way and I am not in anyway in support of that position for transferring from one Zone to another without any moral justification.
That Igwe has been rejected for a long time now by his kinsmen in Zone 'B' is an understatement but people of Sokoto, Zamfara and Kebbi State where his Director General (Tj Sokoto) hail from are with him as shown during the Zone 'A' Convention in Katsina State last month.
In my personal opinion, I don't think if Igwe candidature will fly in the forthcoming convention based on the fact that stakeholders are thinking or are aware that the incumbent President of NANS High Chief (Dr.) Tijani Usman Shehu is behind the scene supporting the Prince of Ebonyi State.
If what people's are thinking is true then Igwe candidature is dead at arrival because some certain section of the stakeholders of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) are not happy with the incumbent President of NANS and may pay him back in his own coin.
As someone that has no single vote in NANS, let me posit that at this critical point in NANS Igwe Ude-Manta is not the best candidate and should not be allowed to fly the flag of the South-East in the forthcoming Convention of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS).
On this note, I am aware that the next election is not going to be business as usual, as such, Igwe should relocate back to Abuja from the South-East and continue with his cars business.
The series will continue next week.
