Dickson Formally Declares Re-election Bid At Bayelsa Rally

SAN FRANCISCO, September 08, (THEWILL) – Ahead of the December 5 governorship election in Bayelsa State, Governor Henry Seriake Dickson, Tuesday in Yenagoa, formally declared his intention to seek re-election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), expressing confidence that he would win the election.

The declaration which held at the Samson Siasia Stadium was graced byformer President Goodluck Jonathan and his wife, Patience as well as other chieftains of the PDP.

Former Niger Delta militant, Alhaji Mujahideen Dokubo-Asari, also attended the event.

Speaking at the ceremony, former President Jonathan pleaded with the people of the state not to vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the election.

Expressing solidarity with Dickson,, Alamieyeseigha said, “By Gods grace, PDP will continue to rule this state,” adding”The Governor has done creditably and we know that you will take us to the next level.”

Also speaking at the occasion, Ondo State governor, Olusegun Mimiko, said the APC had tried to humiliate Jonathan, but they failed “because God was on his side, going by what they planned.”
