Nollywood Wants Buyers Of Pirated Films Prosecuted

Over the week, movie producers and marketers were at the Lagos State National Assembly to discuss the issue of Piracy which has been eating deep into their creative works.

The practitioners accused the Alaba market boys as the head quarters where the menace of piracy takes place while calling on the state government to join them in waging war against it.

They suggested that there should be a punishment for both the seller and buyer of the pirated movies like prison terms to help curb the menace.

The actors present at the hearing also suggested that the state could also support by allocating funds to them to build a film village in Lagos where a lot of movie events could take place.
Those present at the House include, Uti Nwachukwu, Ramsey Nuaoh, Jide Kosoko, Tunde Kelani, Joseph Benjamin and others.
