OSCAR Awards Train Moves to Nigeria

This may sound like an Academy Awards for film-makers in Nollywood but it's actually more than that.

Unlike the popular Academy Awards (Oscars) for film-makers, actors and actresses, Nigerian OSCAR is actually "Nigerian Outstanding Student Choice Awards of Recognition".

The Nigerian OSCAR is set to honour about 70 outstanding Nigerians which include 50 Nigerian students who are extraordinarily outstanding and 20 most exceptional Nigerians in 2015.

This year's event is to take place at Eko Hotels & Suite while several celebrities are billed to perform during the show.

Among major sponsors of this event is the Nigerian Television Authority, who are strongly behind the organizers in order to have a wonderful ceremony.

Some of its previous winners include Prof. Bamitale Omole, who is the Vice Chancellor of Obafemi Awolowo University, Gov. Olusegun & Mrs. Olukemi Mimiko, Airtel Nigeria, Diamond Bank Plc, and Nescafe.

This is the first time the national OSCAR will be organized and the planners have promised never to compromise standard.

According to the organization's National Publicity Manager, the indigenous event is expected to get global acclaim.

Among events lined-up for Nigerian OSCAR are: the 20 MEN Awards Grand Reception, the National Student Awards and the Multicultural Food Feast; all these event are incorporated together.
