The Ondo State Deputy Governor, Ali Olanusi, has been impeached on Monday morning by members of the state House of Assembly.
The deputy governor, who decamped form the ruling People’s Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress a few day to the presidential elections, was impeached after 22 of the 26 members of the Assembly voted in support.
The constitution stipulates two-third support for such an impeachment to be established.

The Speaker, Jumoke Akindele, subsequently ruled that all government property in the custody of the Deputy Governor be retrieved by the Permanent Secretary of the Deputy Governor's office.
The Assembly had last Tuesday (April 22) served an impeachment notice on Mr. Olanusi.
The Assembly, in the notices signed by 20 of its 26 members, accused the deputy governor of alleged gross misconduct.
