PRCAN Holds Inaugural Monthly Breakfast Meeting

By Philip Odiakose

The Public Relations Consultants Association of Nigeria (PRCAN), the umbrella body of PR consultancy firms in Nigeria, has announced plans to host the inaugural edition of its Monthly Breakfast Meeting.

The event, which comes up on Tuesday, April 28, 2015, will feature Mr. Kufre Ekanem, Corporate Affairs Adviser of Nigerian Breweries Plc. as Special Guest Speaker. He will be speaking on the topic: “Culture: The Next PR Frontier”.

Mr. John Ehiguese, President of PRCAN said: “The PRCAN Monthly Breakfast Meeting was conceived as a forum for our members to interact and share ideas with senior executives on the Client side. As PR consultants, we invariably work for clients, and there are issues in client relationship which come up from time to time, and which may not be adequately addressed in the course of our day-to-day work.

The Breakfast Meeting provides a platform for such issues to be discussed in a quasi-formal atmosphere, and in such a way that enables us, not only to see things from the client's perspective, but also to learn from each others' experiences.

The Breakfast Meeting, which will be a monthly event, will be attended by senior agency executives, and will feature a Guest Speaker who has the liberty of choosing a topic to speak on. After that there will be a general discussion session”.

PRCAN is legally chartered by a Bye Law of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), to cater to the interests of the consultancy side of PR practice in Nigeria. It currently has a membership of 50 PR consultancy firms providing services across at least 21 PR practice areas.
