Nigeria's president-elect, General Muhammdu Buhari, has been declared one of the world's most influential personalities according to the leading international news journal, Time Magazine. The magazine shared the rise to fame of the former military ruler.

In the article, General Buhari was listed along side other notable world figures. He was described as a former ruler who is now a 'born-again democrat and capable of leading Nigeria to her promised land.

You would recall that Omotola Jalade-Ekehinde was also listed as one of the Time's 100 Most Influential People in the world in 2013. Other Nigerians to be recognised as a world figures are Minister of Economy and Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and oil magante, Folorunsho Alakija who have appeared on Forbes' list of the world's powerful women.
