2011: IBB POSTERS FLOOD OKUKU

By NBF News

In anticipation of his appearance at this year's Okuku Day celebration, the campaign posters of the former military president, General Ibrahim Babangida, flooded the town of Okuku at the weekend.

Printed in gloss, the posters announced the IBB presidency come 2011. Unfortunately for his campaigners, the ever-smiling retired army general failed to show up at the annual ceremony. Sun gathered that IBB had once added pep to the annual celebration in recent past.

Thinking he would use his recent visit to Ogun State, where he graced the birthday lecture of Governor Gbenga Daniel, to attend the Okuku Day celebration, his campaigners were said to have gone to town on Friday night to paste his posters along all roads leading to the venue of the celebration.

Daily Sun also gathered that the posters, which were limited to Okuku township alone, might be a decoy to lure IBB to donate substantially to the development fund being launched for the town.

Unfortunately, IBB did not show up at the event neither did he send a representative to stand in for him.
