NAVY POST SERVICE HOUSING SCHEME REFUNDS N51.3M TO DEFAULTERS

By NBF News

The management of the Nigerian Navy Post-Service Housing Scheme (NNPSHS) has returned N51.3million to 21 subscribers, who could not meet up with the deadline of payment.

Most of the affected subscribers are said to have made the initial deposit of 10 percent requirement of the total money, as far back as June last year, but failed to make subsequent payment.

Officials of NNPSHS revealed that those concerned have refused to collect their money. Towards this end, the management of the scheme has directed such subscribers to write a letter indicating that they would not collect their money now, so that the housing scheme's officials would not be accused, in future, of deliberately holding unto people's money.

In a related development, the NNPSHS has commenced construction of more than 100 additional housing units to meet up with the demands of subscribers. This brings to about 900, the number of houses to be built in the first phase of the housing scheme.

Work at the estate, which started last June, has reached an advanced stage, with the construction of a good road network, with drainage, walkway, Internet facilities, commercial centre, worship centre, office suites and sports centre.
