Veteran Actress, Bukky Ajayi Adds Another Year

Veteran Nollywood actress, Bukky Ajaiyi, is a year older today Febuary 2nd, 2015. The ex-village headmaster star has retired from acting but she still occasionally features in musical videos on invitation.

Bukky Ajayi as her admirers fondly calls her started her career in the 1960s. She has worked as an announcer, presenter and newscaster at the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA). She studied at the Stanislavsky Institute of Drama, London. Today, she is a grandmother and great grandmother.

Though not known by many that today is her day, the grandma was being celebrated by actress, Yvonne Jegede who while rejoicing with her explained that the actress was seriously angry with her.

In her words, “My Nollywood diva/queen is a year older today. I celebrate you today and always. Mama of Life i love you today, tomorrow, next tomorrow, next year, and many more years to come. An Icon, a blessing to me, you watched me grow in Nollywood and took me in as your daughter. I'm grateful to God for making you a part of my life. Mummy Bukky Ajayi is a sabi-woman lol. Hey, but she sabi no be lie.”

“Happy birthday to a wonderful woman, a mentor, my lover, my mother(well grandmother). The best I've met, my sugar banana. My special cook. I love you more than your cooking though. Mummy Bukky Ajayi you are blessed. Turn up mama, we dey go club today oo, you should wear your 6" high heel Hehehe,” she said.
