How PDP Campaigns for General Buhari

In actions and deeds PDP and handlers of President Jonathan have been making silly and unpardonable mistakes that have continued to add millions of votes to candidate GMB without knowing it. Hours on end these guys continue to add values to GMB's struggle to reclaim Nigeria by jumping from one mistake to another. In their futile bids to stop candidate Buhari they have angered Nigerians who now feel that the man is being persecuted for nothing.

Asari Dokubo, Chief Edwin Clark, Tompolo and few others were the first set of Niger Delta leaders that started abusing and blackmailing other Nigerians that they must support President Jonathan or nobody takes a single drop of oil from South South. Asari Dokubo and Edwin Clark called prominent and eminent Nigerians names and threatening fire and brimstone also. Anybody who questions President Jonathan becomes the enemy of South South. It was that bad and many Nigerians felt that it is better for all of us to die of hunger than to continue swallow this bitter pill and bags of insult. Many Nigerians now feel this country can do without oil and in fact they believe that disappearance of oil will make us to reason, think, plan and dream big.

Now enter Mr Femi Fani-Kayode, the one man who had in the past taken PDP and President Jonathan to the cleaners only for him to be resuscitated, rehabilitated and exhumed to be appointed as the Director Media and Publicity for President Jonathan's campaign organization. Here are some of Fani-Kayode's diatribes on the person of the President: “ The problem that we have is the President himself”.  Listen to Fani-Kayode:   “A president who prides himself on his weakness and incompetence and whose love of false prophets and strange women knows no bounds and has no end”.  Again Fani-Kayode said:  “A president who has abdicated his responsibilities, destroyed his own political party, divided his own people, brought ridicule to his own faith, cowers before his own officials, scorns the international community and breaks his solemn oath to defend the Nigerian people.”  On PDP, Fani-Kayode said:  “PDP is a self-evident sinking ship.”

Last week Governor Fayose single-handedly pushed millions of Nigerians at home and in Diaspora to become GMB supporters when he signed a death wish to the candidate in the name of playing politics of survival. In that front page adverts carried in the Punch and the Sun Newspapers which cost almost 100 million naira, Fayose abused and danced on the graves of past Northern Presidents of this country who had passed on. That singular brazen act of a madman would have put the nation in jeopardy if it was not well managed by eminent Nigerians. It was a day Fayose took primordial sentiments and ethnic preoccupation to a frightened dimension. It could have been worse. That advertorial tended to suggest that nobody is thinking again in PDP because I know that Aso Rock saw the Advert before publication. The rest is now history!

As if that was not enough these elements in PDP started questioning GMB's education and certificates. The fools at forty claimed that candidate Buhari is not qualified to run for President. Now Buhari ran in 2003, 2007 and 2011 without certificate issues. These people are aware of what Section 131 of our constitution says. Even when the American War College released the vital information about having a diploma in the prestigious war college, these PDP's confused men could not listen. Till date, these people are still wasting their precious gift of time on nothing. Candidate GMB retired as a General in the Nigerian Army, a former Head of State, a former Governor, a former Minister, and a former PTF Chairman. GMB joined the Army in 1961 and rose from the rank and file to become a General. All these did not help PDP and its men to think. Even the bad press this generated is helping candidate Buhari the more. Even the little sympathy PDP has in the North has vanished into the thin air because of this calculated attempt to rubbish one of their brightest sons. As if this is not enough, they started talking about the man's age and his health. They said the man is too old to be president and even claimed he has cancer. Now look at this: President Mugabe is still ruling Zimbabwe at the age of 90 even though this is not a good example. Beji Caid Essebsi has just been elected at 88 as the president of Tunisia. Anerood Jugnauth is the Prime Minister of Mauritius at 84. Karolos Papoulias is the President of Greece at 85. The late President Mandela started ruling South Africa at more than 75 years old. Eamon De Valera ruled Ireland at 90. Shimon Peres ruled Israel at 90. Arthur Pasizade is the Prime Minister of Azerbaijan at 79. Raul Castro is the President of Cuba at 83. Paul Biya is the President of Cameroon at 81. I can go on and on. Candidate Buhari has been campaigning throughout the country while the death wishers think he has cancer. This is no longer politics but wickedness. Again this stupid and wicked attempt to belittle the image of candidate Buhari has backfired and consequently pushed more votes to the man.

Mr Jimi Agbaje, the PDP's governorship candidate in Lagos said South South will cripple the economy of Nigeria if President Jonathan is not re-elected this year. This weak, timid and senseless gaffe, at once infuriated a vast preponderance of Nigerians who felt that the man insulted our collective sense of duty and responsibility. Jimi Agbaje may not have heard about diversified economy. He does not know about developing our lands and mineral resources. He does not know about Human capital development. He does not know that the power of a man is in his head and not under his feet. Jimi Agbaje may not know that he has lost Lagos Governorship to Ambode by this thoughtless gaffe. Again this silly talk has helped APC to consolidate.

Few days ago the National Security Adviser to the President, Colonel Sambo Dasuki added salt to injury when he advised that the 2015 Presidential elections be shifted to enable INEC to distribute the remaining Permanent Voters Card (PVC). This again put PDP and the President handlers as people who cannot think and those who have ran short of ideas. Millions of Nigerians think PDP is jittery and afraid of the impending defeat, possible humiliation and collapse of the party. The NSA and PDP have been pushing millions of sympathizers to APC without knowing it. To suggest that presidential elections should be shifted means a third term agenda for President Jonathan and these people do not see that Nigerians hate the idea which is unconstitutional.

Even in its family PDP has treated its supporters and members with scorn and levity. Arrogance, overzealousness and inability to manage success have ruined PDP and made millions of it supporters to look for shelter in APC. Think about Emir Sanusi Lamido Sanusi's humiliation. Think of speaker Tambuwal's harassment and intimidation, think of the abusive security agencies, maltreatment of the opposition, impunity, brazen corruption, incompetence, mediocrity, etc which tore the party down hopelessly and helplessly. PDP has handed over to APC without knowing it but wait till  February 14 2015 .
