Boko Haram: Church donates relief materials to IDPs in Yola

With the devastating state of the thousands of Internally displaced persons, IDPs who are always in desperate need of support from well meaning Nigerians,donor agencies and well spirited individuals to complement the support of Federal government.

The founder and president of Upper room cathedral Bishop Peter Makanto has organised a special Sunday service in the headquarters of the church in Yola to distribute relief materials worth millions of naira to hundreds of IDPs cut across the various camps in Yola, materials ranging from Clothing, beddings,food items and sun of money to all those attended the church program.

Makanto who on the Sunday sermon pronounced that ,the duty of the church is to be courageous enough to dare the impossible most especially to render courageous help to our brothers and sisters who had become the victims of Boko Haram attacks,on delivery the items to each family presented he appreciate the church members for donating as much they can also thank the Fountain of life church Lagos for partnering with his church to reach out to those displaced by insurgents.

Esther Tumba who came from Michika as a result of Boko Haram attacks responded to the gesture amidst tears said "If not for people like Makanto who will know that we are suffering, what the government are given us is not enough and a times it does not gets to us,God will bless this man in many way "she cried.
